Handling all that Data

Data, metadata, big data — it seems we are drowning in that four-letter word. That is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if  you understand how metadata works with your data in searching and findability. Enterprise Storage Forum brought this perspective to our attention in their article, ‘Metadata About Metadata.”

Of course, with data comes the need for storage. Capturing digital data and storing it securely in the clouds is easier with object storage. However, it is always important to entrust your data to professionals who adhere to industry standards and uses technology that makes your content findable.

Access to data is important. It can be achieved by creating strong taxonomies. Proper indexing against a strong standards-based taxonomy increases the findability of data. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
