The latest version of Eikon from Thomson Reuters offers semantic search capabilities. Eikon 3.0 applies free text search capabilities to financial data. Wall Street Technology brought this news to our attention in their article, “Semantic Search Takes Thomson Reuters Eikon to New Levels.”

Market data platforms hold mass amounts of data, but as with most databases and storage, findability is an issue. Eikon uses semantic search to simplify that process and reach the data in a single search.

Eikon 3.0 also includes some geospatial analysis capabilities that allow users to enter text queries for weather events or the location of a particular oil tanker anywhere in the world. This mapping capability changes the way users look and interact with data.
