Proper Findability

Metago has released an update that allows indexing with ASTRO Cloud & File Manager. This new feature works on content found on mobile devices, tablets, in the cloud, or on networked platforms, and it all happens invisibly to the user.

PRWeb brought this news to our attention in their article, “ASTRO Adds Support for Indexed Searching across Devices and Clouds.”

“Adding indexing is great for our users because searching for a file is one of the most performed actions by our users,” said Kevin Payne, chief executive officer at Metago. “Indexing makes search results instantaneous with even thousands of files searched. With over 200 million searches performed in ASTRO, saving 30 seconds for each search would save over 190 man-years. That is a big deal for ASTRO users.”

Findability is maximized only when a proper taxonomy is in place. Proper indexing against a strong standards-based taxonomy increases the findability of data. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
