Workshop on Semantic Computing Available

Big data applications present their own unique challenges in order to appropriately harness the utility of open source frameworks including such as Apache. Through these advances, big data has become ubiquitous across all areas of research, allowing for new applications that were not possible earlier.

To learn more, consider attending the Tutorial and Workshop on Semantic Computing in Big Data (SCBD 2014), which consists of a half-day tutorial and a half-day workshop to be held in conjunction with the 8th IEEE (Institute of ELectrical and Electronics Engineers) International Conference on Semantic Computing (ICSC 2014) on June 16, 2014.

The tutorial will specifically step each student though the installation, setup, and implementation of Hadoop architecture on Amazon Web Services and will include installation and application of the HIVE and PIG query languages as well as machine learning packages such as Apache Mahout.

A variety of topics surrounding semantics and big data will be covered. Click here for full details.
