As Concept Searching is compiling the statistics from its 2015 SharePoint and Office 365 Metadata survey, one of the findings that has emerged is a renewed focus on improving enterprise search. This interesting information came from PRWeb in their article, “Concept Searching Survey Shows Enterprise Search Rises in the Ranks of Strategic Applications.”
Based on the two previous surveys, supported by analysts and in line with a recent Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) survey, the results from 360 responses indicate that enterprise search has become a stumbling block in many organizations. Instead of proactively managing content, they have settled for living with the problem.
A new focus on enterprise search can be viewed as a step forward in the management and use of unstructured content. Organizations are realizing that the issue is here to stay.
It is important to have a comprehensive search feature and quality indexing against a standards-based taxonomy. It isn’t a cookie cutter process. Choose the right partner in technology, especially when your content is in their hands.
