Automation continues to develop in the unlikeliest of places. Recently, Kroll Ontrack elevated its Relativity offering by giving legal counsel the ability to take an automated approach to applying redactions. KMWorld brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “Assisted redaction from Kroll Ontrack.”
Assisted-redaction technology identifies and redacts personally identifiable information (PII), privileged or other pertinent information based on user-defined criteria, simplifying the manual redaction process and reducing the risk of inadvertent disclosure.
The previous manual process of a black marker is being replaced by cascading search terms and regular expressions across the entire data collection workspace or a subset of data. The application leverages user-defined criteria to identify sensitive information and automatically place redactions on qualified documents.
Automated operations can reduce and even eliminate manual tasks and processes, and save money. Much like automated indexing makes content findable.
