Okay, it is Irish only in that it is being held on St. Patrick’s Day, but it will be a learning opportunity.

Heather Hedden, senior vocabulary editor at Cengage Learning, will be facilitating the webinar “An Introduction to Taxonomies” on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

A teacher at Simmons School of Library and Information Science since 2007, Heather is also the author of The Accidental Taxonomist and a member of the board of the American Society for Indexing and the NISO working group “Development of Standards to Support Bibliographic Data Exchange.”

The webinar will provide a basic introduction to taxonomies, thesauri, and other controlled vocabularies. Regardless if your goal is to be a better user of controlled vocabularies in searching or to study how to create taxonomies, this webinar will be of interest to you.
