At the midway point of 2018 a review of the content published and consumed at DATAVERSITY revealed some interesting insights. DATAVERSITY brought this information to us in their article, “2018 DATAVERSITY Mid-Year Top 20.”
Machine learning maintained its position towards the top, and another predictable topic – data governance – followed suit. That is no surprise as more businesses are recognizing the potential benefits of ensuring data is consistent and trustworthy. This is critical as more organizations rely on data to make business decisions, optimize operations, create new products and services, and improve profitability.
Marking its debut appearance, blockchain entered the Top 20 at number 14. By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology is reinventing the internet.
Even with the unexpected, this Top 20 list revealed a more well-rounded set of topics, not being top- or bottom-heavy with any specific topic. More and more companies and individuals are looking at the data from beginning to end and all the steps in between.
