There are many things weighing heavy on the minds of hospital leaders. It might surprise you to find the top two are severe weather and cyberattacks, based on a recent survey. Becker’s IT & CIO Report brought this interesting topic to us in their article, “Severe weather, cyberattacks top list of hospital safety concerns.”

Rave Mobile Safety surveyed more than 300 respondents leading compliance, emergency management, facilities and security divisions at hospitals across the U.S. for its poll on safety concerns and emergency preparedness. The nations’ reliance on the internet and connected services means the potential damage from cyber-attacks is one of the biggest risks facing healthcare providers today. The threat of cyber-attacks and cyber warfare sits behind only extreme weather events and natural disasters.

Of course hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes have potentially deadly results, but it is hard to compare the damage when they affect human lives.
