STM Week 2018 begins next week in London. Three days of collaboration, standardization and consolidation are in store for those attending this annual event.

The festivities begin on Tuesday, December 4th with the keynote speaker: Bill Kasdorf, from Kasdorf & Associates. His keynote address is titled: Getting it together: Advancing technology through collaboration.

Let’s not forget Access Innovation’s own Jay Ven Eman is facilitating a morning workshop titled: The Economics of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Semantic Enrichment.

Day 2 focuses on Tools and Standards, so the opening keynote by Professor Dr. Paul Wouters from Leiden University feels very appropriate with the topic: New Research Indicators and their meaning for Open Science.

Another interesting feature is the “Rubber-meets-the-road session” moderated by Renny Guida from IEEE. With the topic of AI and Open Science, new tools and service and a panel of professionals, including Access Innovation’s Marjorie M.K. Hlava; Jon White, PageMajik;  Michael Upshall, UNSILO; and Babis Marmanis, Copyright Clearance Center will share what is available now and what vendors have to offer for developing smarter information applications.
