Artificial intelligence (AI) is integrated into nearly every field and our daily lives, in one form or another. New advances and approaches are constantly being explored. Recently, a team of MIT researchers is working to make it easier for newbies to get acquainted with AI. But don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten the experts who advance the field. MIT News brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “New AI programming language goes beyond deep learning.”
In a paper presented at the Programming Language Design and Implementation conference recently, researchers describe a probabilistic-programming system named “Gen.” Users write models and algorithms from multiple fields where AI techniques are applied without having to deal with equations or manually write high-performance code. Gen also lets expert researchers write sophisticated models and inference algorithms that are used for prediction tasks and were previously not feasible.
Due to its simplicity and, in some use cases, automation, the researchers say Gen can be used easily by anyone, from novices to experts.
