Blockchain technology is still new and still finding new applications to enhance our lives, both at home and at work. However, like most technologies, there is a line that shouldn’t be crossed just because you can. This information came to us from Mel Magazine in their article, “Smart Locks Could Make It Even Easier for Landlords to Evict Their Tenants.”

Smart lock technology may seem fairly innocuous on the surface; an advanced use and natural evolution in the capabilities of coded blockchain technology. However, there is potential for that technology to be misused. It could potentially be leveraged by landlords to more easily lock out tenants in the case of an eviction, which again may seem completely legit. However at a time when we are fighting multiple crises – pandemic, economic collapse, racial unrest and attacks on our very democracy – how can anyone trust that this technology will not be inappropriately used?
