Information architecture (IA) is a science of organizing and structuring information or content, including text, photos and videos within a digital product. IA and artificial intelligence (AI) work hand in hand. The challenge is getting both people and data together on the same path. ZDNet brought this interesting topic to our attention in their article, “Artificial intelligence’s data problem meets AI’s people problem.”

Data is required for AI, however the data landscape currently is hybrid and it is multi-cloud. AI can only leverage information that has first been carefully structured. No matter the data source, IA must first groom input channels fed to AI systems in order to spotlight worthy patterns of interest.

Centralization of data is not the answer. AI enabled by a data fabric that ensures privacy, compliance and security at scale might be. IA is an essential part of the powerful user experience design. Efficient IA helps users navigate through digital products easily.

At the end of the day, content needs to be findable and, that happens with a strong, standards-based taxonomyData Harmony is our patented, award winning, AI suite that leverages explainable AI for efficient, innovative and precise semantic discovery of your new and emerging concepts to help you find the information you need when you need it.
