2022 is expected to be a crucial year as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning continue to stride along the path to turning themselves into the most disruptive yet transformative technology ever developed. ZDNet brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “What data management leaders see for the sector in 2022.”

The impact of AI has created much speculation. Even going as far as naming it as more significant than that of fire or electricity on the development of humans as a species. That feels a bit ambitious, but there is no doubt the potential is clear.

During the next few years, we can expect to see the emergence of federated machine learning, which enables high-traceability technologies and allows researchers to train predictive models on sensitive data transparently.

Unfortunately, most organizations have little to no knowledge of how AI technology achieves the results it does. Explainable AI allows users to comprehend and trust the results and output created by machine learning algorithms. “Explainable AI” is used to describe an AI model, its expected impact and potential biases.
