Technology can make our lives easier, gather and analyze information faster than any human could manage and save lives. This interesting and important information came to us from Government Technology in their article, “How to Combat Human Trafficking With Data and Analytics.”
One great example is an effective data sharing platform that has the potential to unite seemingly disparate information across state government organizations to help social services agencies identify, prosecute and reduce human trafficking.
Human trafficking has been reported in all 50 states and it has been able to persist for many complex and interconnected reasons, but one is the lack of data sharing.
Governments can apply the same data governance concepts and technology to combat trafficking. Data sharing can bring together information from a variety of relevant organizations.
At the end of the day, the data needs to be findable and, that happens with a strong, standards-based taxonomy.
