The theme for the 85th Annual Meeting of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) is Crisis, Transition, Resilience: Re-Imagining an Information-Resilient Society.

The forum is scheduled for October 29 – November 1, 2022 and is intended to assist in conceptualizing, developing and implementing solutions for a future information environment that not only reacts to crises, but also helps protect society from future information crises.

This year’s ASIS&T will be a fully in-person meeting without virtual attendance or presentation options.

Access Innovations’ own Marjorie Hlava will be part of the panel addressing Accessibility, Usability, Inclusivity: Information Standards, Guidelines, & Best Practices.

Hlava will be focusing on Video/Audio to Text to Tagging (VATT) – a new solution that translates audio files to time stamped text transcripts for indexing, classifying and enriching.

When working with text and loading to digital library systems, there are many standards to consider. When you add in the complexity of accessibility and other media formats such as audio and video, the need for standards and adherence to them is even greater.

Register for this event here. Registration closes October 14, 2022.
