June 11, 2010 – Fans of Drupal like the taxonomy system’s power and flexibility, yet the company thinks many Drupal builders fail to fully harness what Drupal gives them in taxonomy.
One session at last year’s Drupal Camp Dallas addressed this issue – Getting The Most Out Of Drupal’s Taxonomy System. David Lanier, freelance Drupal developer and themer, was the facilitator and his presentation slides as well as video of the session is still available to view. The session covered taxonomy in general, terminology, current uses, how taxonomy relates to the rest of the Drupal framework, when to use a taxonomy and real-life examples.
The information is not out of date and worthy of a look, but it is important to remember that getting the tagging right is important, or content bugs will come back to bite you.
