March 7, 2011 – Pingar has announced that Dr. Alyona Medelyan has been appointed to the role of Chief Research Officer. Pingar’s past developments include semantic search solutions for enterprises.
We found this interesting piece of news on Voxy in their article, “Pingar Appoints Alyona Medelyan As Chief Research Officer.” Medelyan has been the lead software engineer at Pingar for the past 18 months. She brings experience from working with some of the best natural language processing experts in the world. During her PhD studies at the University of Waikato, Medelyan developed an open-source tool, Maui (Multi-purpose automatic topic indexing), which automatically identifies the main topics in documents. This seems to make her an obvious choice to lead development of Pingar’s novel search and data discovery technologies.
Is this another sign that the economy has indeed made a turn in the right direction?
