April 14, 2011 – Lexalytics, Inc. has announced a major upgrade to its Salience product, bringing semantic features to the forefront.

Sys-Con Media brought this news to our attention in their article, “Lexalytics Announces Salience 5.0, an Evolution in Semantic Understanding.” Lexalytics has created Concept Matrix by digesting the entire human generated encyclopedia, Wikipedia®. This was done to help the software understand the complex relationships between words and meaning – the core of semantic technology.

This allows a user’s search to be more dynamic, faceted and inclusive by connecting all related and commonly used terms. This exposes the “hidden meanings” of content, which is key for comprehensive findability.
