The American Institute of Physics (AIP) has chosen RSuite as their content management system. Prior to RSuite, AIP did not have a content management system and managed its vast amount of content via a combination of home-grown applications and file systems.
We found this news on WebWire in their article, “The American Institute of Physics Selects RSuite Content Management System to Modernize Its Publishing Program.” AIP is a not-for-profit corporation that works to advance and diffuse knowledge of the physical sciences and its applications to human welfare. A pioneer in digital publishing, AIP is also one of the world’s largest publishers of physics journals and produces the publications of more than 25 scientific and engineering societies.
This follows last year’s collaboration with Access Innovations, Inc. to convert AIP’s Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme (PACS) into a thesaurus for its nearly two million online scholarly articles. Using the new thesaurus allows scientists to execute faster, more accurate and more efficient information searches.
The goal is to improve AIP’s production workflow, metadata management, usability and delivery of content, which ultimately results in increased revenue.
