EBSCO Publishing has merged with the H.W. Wilson Company to improve discovery services for libraries. The “win-win” is that EBSCO databases will have enhanced indexing because the Wilson controlled vocabularies will be integrated into EBSCO’s controlled vocabularies. Subscribers of Wilson databases will be able to search the EBSCO Discovery Service for all Wilson indexing, abstracts, and full text.

This interesting piece of news was found on eContent in their article, “EBSCO and Wilson Merge to Improve Indexing.”

Enhanced indexing can be advanced and tempting, but without a solid taxonomy to rely on, the results can be incomplete. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ISO/ANSI/NISO compliant taxonomies to produce comprehensive search results.
