Okay, I’ll be the first to admit this particular post is not about hard core business in the world of machine assisted indexing, ontology development or taxonomies. But it is related, somewhat… I just read that a new movie is being made is titled “A Taxonomy of Barnacles.” This interesting information was found on Alt Film Guide.
I love how the word taxonomy and the application is infiltrating our cultures and sub-cultures. Even if the movie represents taxonomy in a different context and maybe a stretch of the definition, it will be appearing on billboards. Is that a first? I’ve done preliminary research (okay, I Googled it) and found no others listing taxonomy in their title. Wonder what is next? The Machine Assisted Indexing of Super Heros?

Taxonomies hit the BIG TIME! I was expecting this taxo about tiny pointy shellfishy things, but a family name? Whatever it takes to get in the spotlight.
