Getting Personal

Automation is a good thing, or even a great thing. With the onslaught of metadata being created every moment of every day, automated indexing and storage for findability later is more than a great thing. Having said that, don’t be surprised when we acknowledge that sometimes automation is not the solution. Gasp, I know!

This interesting topic was inspired by EContent and their article, “Not Every Task Can Be Automated.” Automating social media is a new trend and something that I am not sure is as effective in reaching your customers or constituents as the personal, live touch. Harnessing the power of semantic technology to effectively reach a specific target group is great, but use a real voice to reach out and interact with them. Social media isn’t about numbers, it is about building relationships.
