H.I.M. ON CALL has made available their dual coding services for hospitals migrating to the ICD-10 coding classification system. Dual coding is part of the process to end-to-end testing for ICD-10.

MarketWatch brought this news to our attention in their article, “H.I.M. ON CALL Launches Dual Coding Service to Help Hospitals Prepare for ICD-10.” This may be exciting news for those who aren’t as long away from implementation as others,  and who can see hope and light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, or project.

One of the key factors of this project is training. Medical coding requires specialized expertise and systems tailored to the regulatory requirements in which healthcare providers, hospitals, and doctors deliver their services. Training is very important. That is why Access Innovations, Inc. provides training to a client’s staff and then offers quality assurance and validation services that can:

  • Minimize the risk of a coding error
  • Identify inappropriate or inadvertently applied tags
  • Display a “map” of coding distributions to allow management to get a bird’s-eye view of the coding assignment flow.
