Microsoft recently released Enterprise Library (EL) 6.0 with a semantic logging application block. Enterprise Library has a long history of providing architectural guidance, recommended practices, and reusable components to help developers, information architects, and IT professionals efficiently build line-of-business (LOB) systems.

InfoQ brought this news to our attention in their article, “Microsoft Enterprise Library 6.0 Adds Semantic Logging.” Three years after the release of EL 6.0, the Enterprise Library application blocks are standalone but can be combined to work together in order to solve various concerns. You only have to get the ones that you need. They are also customizable and extensible, so you can extend them to provide what you need in your specific contexts.
