OCLC Research scientist Brian Lavoie and Richard Gartner from King’s College London have co-authored the second edition of Preservation Metadata. This edition focuses on new developments in preservation metadata made possible by the emergence of PREMIS as a de facto international standard.

This interesting information was found on KnowledgeSpeak in their article, “OCLC Research scientists co-author second edition of Preservation Metadata report.” With all the media talk – not much of it being positive – about metadata, it is refreshing to read of a project highlighting the benefits of this digital breadcrumb. Digital preservation practitioners will be very interested, as well as anyone seeking to learn more about the general topic of preservation metadata.
