February 10-14, 2014

Access Innovations, Inc.

4725 Indian School Road NE

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Monday, February 10, is a full-day overview of the Data Harmony software suite. Attendees will learn how, why, and when taxonomies are used; how to start and maintain a taxonomy; and about resources available for taxonomy development. This information will provide a solid foundation for deeper understanding of the core meeting sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday, February 11 begins with a company and software update and continues with a review of recent changes to taxonomic standards and an overview of the current state of the information management industry. After lunch, experienced Data Harmony users from throughout the world will present case studies based on their recent projects. These in-depth presentations are scheduled to allow time for discussion among attendees to share experiences and help translate them to other settings.

Wednesday, February 12 includes additional case studies from current users as well as presentations by the Access Innovations staff detailing current in-house projects and strategies.

Thursday, February 13 features hands-on training in the Data Harmony software.  The morning session will focus on Thesaurus Master and the afternoon on the M.A.I. rule-building module. This is an intensive, interactive session that requires a computer with Java 1.6 installed. (If you cannot bring a laptop to the meeting, please let us know when you register and we will provide a suitable machine for you.)

On Friday, February 14, join your colleagues in a “sandbox” session for more hands-on training in Thesaurus Master and M.A.I. This session will have an individual focus and will include manipulating a dummy taxonomy and practicing rule building. Our taxonomists will also assist you with your specific concerns, including reviewing your taxonomy and troubleshooting your rule base. Bring samples of your data or taxonomy for discussion and consulting.

Our staff looks forward to meeting with you one-on-one as well. Friday is a good opportunity for these sessions; please contact us to reserve a time to speak with us.
