I have found another taxonomy of a not-so-usual subject – band names. This beautifully designed infographic tracks band names in a variety of well-organized categories. The charts track which locations are most frequently cited in band names. Perhaps predictably, the eastern half of the United States has the strongest showing. Aside from a short list of two, Australia is largely neglected.
This interesting find was brought to us by Fast Co Create in their article, “Taxonomy Of A Band Name Charts Offer A Visual Reminder That Every Band Name Is Kind Of Silly.”
Unusual and fun taxonomies are always a treat. But when building a comprehensive taxonomy, proper indexing increases the findability of data. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
