Madhyamik (secondary) and Uchhya-Madhyamik (higher secondary) text books are being uploaded to the National Digital Library (NDL) archives in India. This interesting information came to us from The Times of India in their article, “Board textbooks to be archived in digital library.”
All the books that have been published by the government for the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education as well as the West Bengal Higher Education Council will now be accessible to anyone interested in their content. The digitized English version will also be available, in addition to Bengali and Hindi.
“It will help in the integration of different state boards. It is not expected that students in junior classes will benefit from digitization. But this will create a comprehensive education support system over time,” said Partha Pratim Das from the computer science engineering department of IIT-Kharagpur.
It is important in digital data to provide consistency. Standards provide consistency. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
