November 3, 2010 – The national consortium for XML business reporting standards, XBRL US,  has announced that Campbell Pryde, the current Chief Standards Officer and head of development, has been named President and CEO.

PR Newswire brought this news to our attention in their article, “XBRL US Announces New President and CEO, Campbell Pryde.” Mark Bolgiano, who served as the first President and CEO of XBRL US, will be stepping down to join the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a medical research organization headquartered in Chevy Chase, MD.

Campbell Pryde has served as the XBRL US Chief Standards Officer over the past three years and has been a global thought leader in the architecture and applications of XBRL for eight years at KPMG, Morgan Stanley, and XBRL US. In addition to leading the development of the US GAAP taxonomy currently in use by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mr. Pryde led XBRL US Labs efforts that resulted in the recent release of the first ISO-aligned XBRL taxonomy for corporate actions.
