XenData will soon be unveiling a new interface at IBC 2011 that integrates the range of XenData archive server solutions with Harmonic’s Media Application Server and ProXplore, seamlessly.
Broadcast Newsroom brought this information to our attention in their article, “XenData Announces Collaboration with Harmonic for Media Storage and Archive.” The new interface extends the capabilities of Media Application Server (MAS) to include management of archiving to and restoring from robotic LTO tape libraries that scale to multiple petabytes.Yes, we typed that correctly – petabytes.
The new XenData interface will extend the current search capabilities of MAS to a hugely scalable LTO archive. This opens the system up to news users, such as legal and marketing, to be able to search, view and archive content. Therefore, improving findability.
