Organizations are managing an increasingly complicated set of conflicting rules around digital data across markets. Consistency and clarity is needed. Digital Insurance brought this interesting information to our attention in their article, “Lack of digital standards making data management increasingly complicated.”

Fear of change, or maybe the lack thereof, is causing organizations worldwide to shift strategies on everything from procurement to customer engagement. Companies can no longer be passive observers of the digital revolution. Instead, they need to actively adapt to the present situation while also preparing for the future digital order.

Many believe the Internet of Things (IoT) will be the solution for the lack of standardization. Pioneering standardization groups are expected to collaborate on different layers of the IoT. This work will include consolidated protocols for devices and their connectivity; data management protocols (including collection, storage, modeling and analytics) and application protocols that can be deployed to devices and desired ecosystems.
