Google Brings Changes

A couple weeks ago, Google changed its algorithm to give preference to 'mobile-friendly' sites when users perform a search on a mobile device. The change was coined as 'Mobilegeddon' because of the potential to bury websites that haven't been optimized to display correctly on various sizes of mobile devices, while also boosting the ranking of mobile-friendly sites.

The Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE) has cataloged vernacular terms and idioms from around the country since it was founded in the early 1960s, Sadly, their funding is coming up empty. Previously funded by various grants, including endowments from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the project will run out of money this summer.

We know that when a taxonomy is well-designed and rooted in standards, it can make finding your content easy and thorough. However, the meaning of the word ‘taxonomy’ is often confused with that for ‘classification’ or even ‘thesaurus’.
